Students of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) have once again achieved outstanding recognition on the international stage. A team of USK students won Second Place (Silver Medal) in the Best Presentation category at the Research Seminar of the IMT-GT Varsity Carnival.
The team, representing a cross-faculty collaboration within USK, consisted of Muhammad Rifat from the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) as the team leader, Balqies Amelia Putri from the Faculty of Nursing (FKep), and Rizqa Ilmina from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). The team was supervised by Prof. Nasrul from the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of USK.
Winning the Silver Medal in the Best Presentation category demonstrates the students’ ability not only to develop research ideas, but also to communicate and present their work effectively in a competitive international academic setting.
In addition to this achievement, another international award was secured through a mixed-group collaboration that brought together students from universities across the member countries of the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT).
The international mixed group, comprising students from Thaksin University, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), and Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), won First Place (Gold Medal) in the Best Effort category.
Muhammad Rifat from FKG USK was also a member of the mixed group that received the highest award in the Best Effort category.
These two achievements demonstrate that USK students are capable of excelling not only individually and through internal university teams, but also through international collaboration and competition involving students from different countries and academic backgrounds.
The achievements further reflect USK’s commitment to fostering student achievement, international exposure, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global engagement as essential components in preparing students to become competitive graduates at both regional and global levels.
The success of USK students at the IMT-GT Varsity Carnival is expected to inspire more students to actively participate in international competitions, research seminars, academic forums, and other global academic opportunities.
Congratulations to Muhammad Rifat, Balqies Amelia Putri, and Rizqa Ilmina on this remarkable achievement. May this accomplishment serve as a stepping stone toward even greater achievements and further strengthen Universitas Syiah Kuala’s reputation on the international stage.
USK Achieves, USK Goes Global.
