The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKG USK), held the Yudisium and Bachelor of Dentistry Oath Ceremony on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The event was conducted in an orderly and solemn atmosphere and was attended by the faculty leadership, members of the Faculty Senate, lecturers, administrative staff, parents and families of the participants, and invited guests.
The Yudisium and Oath Ceremony marked an important milestone in the academic journey of students who had completed their undergraduate education in dentistry. The event signified the completion of their academic studies and served as an important transition as they prepare to continue to the professional stage of dental education.
The ceremony began with an opening session and remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Syiah Kuala, Dr. drg. Zulfan Alibasyah, Sp.Perio. In his remarks, he congratulated the participants on successfully completing their undergraduate dental education and emphasized that graduation from the academic stage was not the end of their journey, but the beginning of the next stage: professional dental education and clinical training.
As they prepare to enter the professional stage, the future clinical trainees were encouraged to uphold proper conduct and professional ethics, maintain discipline, continuously develop their knowledge and clinical skills, and demonstrate integrity throughout their education and future service to patients.
Dr. drg. Zulfan Alibasyah, Sp.Perio emphasized the importance of holding firmly to the following principle: “Character above knowledge, integrity above achievement, and service to others above self-interest.” The message is expected to serve as a guiding principle for the graduates as they continue their journey toward becoming professional dentists.
The event continued with the Yudisium and the recitation of the Bachelor of Dentistry Oath. Through this ceremony, the graduates reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the good name of their alma mater, respecting ethical and professional values, and continuously improving their knowledge and competencies with a strong sense of responsibility.
The ceremony also served as a meaningful reminder that becoming a dentist requires more than academic knowledge and clinical competence. The graduates are expected to develop into future dental professionals who demonstrate professionalism, integrity, ethical values, compassion, and a strong sense of responsibility toward the community.
