The Community Outreach Program of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKG USK), conducted its fourth visit at SD Rumpet, bringing the spirit of fostering awareness and concern for oral health from an early age.
Through an educational session entitled “Oral Health Education as an Expression of Gratitude and the Application of Islamic Values,” the students were encouraged to understand that maintaining good health is not only related to personal hygiene but is also a form of gratitude for the blessings bestowed by Allah SWT.
The activity was followed by a Mass Toothbrushing Session involving fourth- and fifth-grade students. With great enthusiasm, the students practiced proper toothbrushing techniques together as part of an effort to establish good oral hygiene habits in their daily lives.
Meanwhile, sixth-grade students participated in an oral health screening as an initial step in identifying and understanding their dental and oral health conditions.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the knowledge shared will develop into positive habits that the students can consistently apply in their daily lives. Maintaining good health is, after all, one of the simplest forms of gratitude for the blessings bestowed by Allah SWT.
The fourth visit of the FKG USK Community Outreach Program reflects the faculty’s commitment to increasing public awareness—particularly among children—of the importance of maintaining good oral health from an early age, while also instilling positive values that can be applied in everyday life.
