The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKG USK), held an Accreditation Field Assessment Simulation in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit (SPM) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) on Thursday (September 10, 2026). The activity served as an important step in strengthening FKG USK’s readiness for the accreditation field assessment while further fostering a culture of quality within the faculty.
The activity featured Dr. Ir. Bakhtiar, S.P., M.Si. and Ir. Sri Rahmawati, S.T., M.T. as resource persons, who provided guidance, simulations, and feedback regarding FKG USK’s preparedness for the upcoming assessment process.
The Dean of FKG USK emphasized that the simulation was not solely intended to prepare the faculty for the accreditation process, but also served as an opportunity to evaluate existing practices and identify areas that still require improvement.
“Accreditation is not merely about document readiness. Good documentation must be supported by effective implementation and a quality culture that is consistently maintained,” said the Dean of FKG USK.
Through this activity, FKG USK strengthened various aspects included in the accreditation assessment, covering governance, education and learning, research, community engagement, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, and the quality assurance system.
The simulation was also designed to ensure that all elements of the faculty share a common understanding of the field assessment process and are able to provide information that is accurate, objective, and reflective of the actual conditions at FKG USK.
The Dean expressed appreciation to the Head of the Accreditation Team, the secretary, and all team members who have worked diligently in preparing for the accreditation process. The Dean also encouraged the entire academic community to use the feedback obtained from the simulation as a basis for continuous improvement and quality enhancement.
“We do not view this simulation as a process for identifying shortcomings, but rather as an opportunity to strengthen our foundation and ensure that FKG USK continues to move toward higher quality,” the Dean added.
The activity was conducted through interactive simulations and discussions, focusing on FKG USK’s preparedness for the field assessment and the refinement of areas that still require further strengthening.
Through this activity, FKG USK reaffirmed its commitment to making accreditation more than an administrative achievement, but also an instrument for strengthening governance, academic quality, and faculty performance in a sustainable manner.
