The Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Syiah Kuala held an Open Senate Session for the Oath-Taking Ceremony of Dentists of the 51st Cohort on Wednesday (September 9, 2026). A total of 4 graduates officially took their professional oath and were awarded the title of Dentist.
The solemn ceremony was attended by the Vice Rector for Human Resources and Finance of Universitas Syiah Kuala, Vice Deans and Heads of Study Programs, the Senate of the Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Syiah Kuala, the Indonesian Dental Association of Aceh, the Dental Hospital of Universitas Syiah Kuala, as well as the parents and families of the dentists taking the oath.
In her remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Syiah Kuala emphasized that the oath-taking ceremony was not merely a concluding ceremony marking the end of the educational period, but rather the beginning of greater trust and responsibility. She advised the newly inaugurated dentists to always prioritize competence, integrity, and empathy in every service provided to patients.
The Dean also reminded them of the importance of maintaining the good name of the alma mater through professionalism and continuously following the rapid developments in the field of dentistry, including digital dentistry, artificial intelligence, and biomaterials. The professional title of Dentist, she stated, is not the end of the learning process, but rather the beginning of lifelong learning.
Furthermore, the Dean encouraged the graduates not to focus solely on becoming job seekers, but to develop the spirit of dental entrepreneurs who are innovative, independent, and capable of making a meaningful impact on society.
The Vice Rector expressed his appreciation to the parents and families for their support, which had brought the graduates to this stage, while reminding them that alumni are also part of the extended family who will continue to carry the good name of Universitas Syiah Kuala wherever they go.
The Dean also expressed her hope that the 51st Cohort would further enhance the recognition of the Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Syiah Kuala at the ASEAN and international levels.
The ceremony concluded with a prayer and congratulations to all the newly inaugurated dentists of the 51st Cohort of the Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Syiah Kuala.
