The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at Syiah Kuala University (USK) for the 2026–2031 term led the inaugural consolidation meeting held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in the 4th-floor auditorium of the new FKG USK building. This meeting marked the first step in the leadership transition and served as a consolidation forum to align visions, validate data, and build a shared commitment to supporting the implementation of the Dean’s 100-day priority program through an evidence-based approach.
During the meeting, various strategic agenda items were discussed, including the Dean’s policy direction, presentations of executive briefs from each division, the identification of priority issues, discussions on opportunities for improvement and follow-up actions, the setting of 100-day work targets, the identification of necessary support, the establishment of a baseline for the faculty’s current status, and the formulation of the faculty Task Force’s work plan.
The discussion proceeded constructively, examining various strategic issues in the areas of academics, internationalization, finance, governance, student affairs, alumni, information systems, quality assurance, the Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM), as well as laboratories and infrastructure. All discussions were aimed at generating recommendations that could serve as the basis for developing priority programs and continuously improving the faculty’s performance.
As the main decision of the meeting, the Dean established five task forces as acceleration teams tasked with conducting studies, validating data, and formulating strategic recommendations for the development of the USK School of Dentistry, namely:
- Academic and Internationalization Task Force
- Student Affairs and Alumni Task Force
- Digitalization and Business Units Task Force
- Finance and Governance Task Force and
- Human Resources, Research, and Community Service Task Force.
These five task forces will work collaboratively, involving various units within the faculty, to produce data-driven recommendations that will serve as the foundation for developing the FKG USK’s work programs, performance targets, and policy direction during the 2026–2031 leadership term. The findings of each task force will then be discussed at the next leadership meeting to be adopted as the faculty’s strategic programs.
At the close of the meeting, the Dean of the USK School of Dentistry emphasized the importance of a culture of collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and a spirit of continuous improvement as the foundation for realizing a School of Dentistry that is excellent, adaptive, innovative, and internationally competitive. The entire academic community is expected to play an active role in supporting the implementation of various strategic programs to achieve the shared vision of transforming the USK School of Dentistry into a more advanced and sustainable institution.
