“Feel the Journey, Find Your Shine”, PAKARMARU FKG USK 2026 Marks the Beginning of New Students’ Journey Toward Becoming Future Dentists

The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKG USK), held the 2026 Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (PAKARMARU FKG USK 2026) on August 14–15, 2026. Carrying the theme “Feel the Journey, Find Your Shine,” the program served as an initial step for new students to become familiar with the academic and student environment, build connections, and prepare themselves for their journey toward becoming future dentists.

The event was attended by the Director of Student Affairs and Entrepreneurship of USK, Dr. Ir. Wira Dharma, S.Si., M.Si., M.P., IPM., along with the Dean of FKG USK, Vice Deans, Heads of the Undergraduate and Professional Study Programs in Dentistry, lecturers, alumni, and representatives of student organizations within FKG USK. In his address, Dr. Ir. Wira Dharma encouraged new students to make the most of their university years as an opportunity to learn, develop character and potential, and gain broader experiences through both academic and student activities. He also encouraged students to cultivate creativity, innovation, and independence as part of their preparation for the future.

The Dean of FKG USK, Dr. drg. Zulfan Alibasyah, Sp.Perio., emphasized that the journey to becoming a dentist requires more than knowledge and clinical skills. It also requires character, discipline, empathy, integrity, and responsibility. The university years therefore serve as an important process in shaping future healthcare professionals who are competent, professional, and humane.

Over the two-day program, new students received various sessions tailored to their needs at the beginning of their academic journey. The first day, August 14, 2026, focused on introducing the academic aspects of FKG USK, including the education system, academic environment, and an overview of the dental education journey. The second day, August 15, 2026, featured sessions covering character development, communication, teamwork, leadership, adaptation, entrepreneurship, self-development, as well as organizational and student life.

The new students also gained insights and experiences from FKG USK alumni, providing them with an overview of the journey from dental education to professional life. The program became even more meaningful with the Student Pledge, symbolizing the students’ commitment to pursuing their education responsibly and upholding the reputation of their alma mater. This was followed by the release of balloons, symbolizing the beginning of a new journey, along with the hopes and aspirations of FKG USK’s new students.

The Chairperson of PAKARMARU FKG USK 2026, Willys Addzati Bramudy, stated that the program was designed to help new students adapt to the FKG USK environment, understand its academic culture, build relationships, and prepare themselves for university life.

Through the spirit of “Feel the Journey, Find Your Shine,” PAKARMARU FKG USK 2026 marks the beginning of a meaningful journey for new students to embrace every process, discover their potential, and grow into future dentists who are professional, humane, integrity-driven, innovative, and capable of making a positive impact on society.
