USK Rector Appoints Three New Vice Deans of the Faculty of Dentistry, Strengthening Governance Toward the Vision of an ASEAN-Impact Dentopreneur

The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) has entered a new chapter in strengthening its institutional governance. Following the appointment of Dr. drg. Zulfan M. Alibasyah, Sp.Perio as Dean of FKG USK for the 2026–2031 term, the Rector of Universitas Syiah Kuala officially inaugurated three new Vice Deans who will oversee Academic Affairs, Human Resources and Finance, as well as Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships.

The inauguration, held in Banda Aceh on Thursday, 6 August 2026, represented more than the appointment of new academic administrators. It marked an important stage in the Faculty’s leadership consolidation, aimed at accelerating the transformation of FKG USK into an adaptive, innovative institution with stronger competitiveness at both the national and ASEAN levels.

In his address, the Rector emphasized that the newly appointed leadership team must accelerate the achievement of the University’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), which serve as the primary benchmark for institutional success. He further highlighted that improving the quality of academic services for students and faculty members, strengthening organizational governance, and ensuring efficient, transparent, and accountable financial management should become the Faculty’s top priorities.

According to the Rector, the Faculty’s success in achieving these targets will directly contribute to the overall performance of Universitas Syiah Kuala while enhancing the University’s reputation at both the national and international levels.

Dean of FKG USK, Dr. drg. Zulfan M. Alibasyah, Sp.Perio, stated that the newly established leadership structure is expected to foster stronger synergy across all areas of the Faculty. He explained that each leadership portfolio plays a strategic and complementary role in advancing education, research, community engagement, and the expansion of institutional partnerships.

“With this solid leadership structure, we are optimistic that FKG USK will move forward more rapidly in realizing our vision of becoming an Excellent, Innovative Dentopreneur with ASEAN Impact,” said Dr. Zulfan.

This vision positions FKG USK not only as an institution that produces highly competent dental graduates but also as one that nurtures professionals with entrepreneurial mindsets, the capacity for innovation in dental science and technology, and a strong commitment to creating meaningful contributions to society and regional healthcare development.

The appointment of the three Vice Deans also marks the beginning of the Dean’s 100-Day Action Plan for the 2026–2031 leadership period. During this initial phase, the new leadership will prioritize accelerating the achievement of Key Performance Indicators, strengthening faculty governance, enhancing the quality of human resources, optimizing academic services, and expanding strategic partnerships with universities, hospitals, research institutions, industry, and international partners.

With its leadership structure now fully established, FKG USK is well positioned to respond to the increasingly competitive landscape of higher education. Strong collaboration among the Faculty’s leaders, academic staff, administrative personnel, students, alumni, and strategic partners is expected to serve as the foundation for building a distinguished, globally competitive faculty that makes meaningful contributions to the advancement of dental science and the improvement of public oral healthcare services.

The three newly appointed Vice Deans are Dr. drg. Dewi Saputri, Sp.Perio as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Ir. Subhaini, S.Si., M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. as Vice Dean for Human Resources and Finance, and drh. Abdillah Imron Nasution, M.Si., Ph.D. as Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships.
