Student of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) successfully won 1st place in the International Business Competition titled Hultprize Global Summit which was held in Mumbai, India.
Hult Prize International Competition, which is the world’s largest business competition, is directly supervised by the United Nations (UN) to collect ideas from students around the world with different themes every year. This year, it has the theme “UNLIMITED”, to achieve the targets of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
This activity was attended by 4 students from the Faculty of Dentistry USK, namely Galuh Satwika Paramita, Deffan Derrico, Diva Maulana and Mohd. Fakhriza Naufal and 1 person from the Faculty of Economics and Business USK, namely Muhammad Raiyan Fajri.
Biscateam was guided by entrepreneurship supervisors drg. Teuku Ahmad Arbi, Sp.BM (K) and Fitrah Afandi, S.E, M.Si, research supervisors dr. Nurjannah, MPH., Ph.D, Sp. KKLP, and reels competition supervisors drg. Sri Rezeki, Sp. PM.
Biscateam competed starting from the on-campus selection and became Champion 1 so that they had the opportunity to represent USK at the Global Summit stage after competing through the official Hult Prize website which was opened in February. After a series of various stages of competition selection that long with more than 94,000 registrants representing 3,000+ higher education institutions from 100+ countries, Biscateam was selected as one of 600 participants who will proceed to the Summit Competition stage spread across 7 cities around the world.
Biscateam was selected to compete with 59 teams from several cities in various countries, such as Mumbai, Nairobi, Boston, Monterrey, Dubai, Lisbon, Bangkok, and others to present in front of a panel of judges and investors on June 5-13, 2024 located at the SDA Bocconi Asia Center- Mumbai.
After presenting its business, Biscateam won 1st place in the Hultprize Global Summit Mumbai 2024 in the marketing and reel category at the World’s Largest Business Competition.
As the winner of the Hult Prize Global Summit Mumbai 2024, Biscateam received an Invitation and Direct Scholarship by Hult International Business School and will receive funding and mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs to realize their business ideas in their home country.
Biscateam itself brings the Biscatur (Egg shell flour Biscuit) business, which is an innovation of Biscuits made from egg shell flour, Etawa goat milk, palm sugar and several other supporting ingredients. After conducting a nutritional value analysis, one pack of Biscatur is considered to be able to meet daily calcium needs as a prevention of stunting and osteoporosis.
After conducting product research, material preparation and pitching practice for several months, Biscateam hopes that this can make Indonesia proud, especially Syiah Kuala University in the international arena and build the spirit of Indonesian youth in entrepreneurship.
Dean of FKG USK Dr. drg Cut Soraya, M.Pd, Sp.KG gave his appreciation for the students’ achievements in this world-class business competition. This shows that students have global competitiveness and it is hoped that other students can follow suit.
