History
History of FKG USK
The Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Syiah Kuala (FKG USK) was originally a Dentistry Study Program (PSKG) under the Faculty of Medicine of Syiah Kuala University. It was founded in 2006 by drg. Zaki Mubarak, M.Si who was then a lecturer in microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine of USK with the full support of the USK rector at that time, Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdi A. Wahab, M.Sc. After 7 years under the auspices of FK USK, in 2013 PSKG FK USK finally became the Faculty of Dentistry of Universitas Syiah Kuala in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia number: 1227 / E.E1 / KL / 2013 and the Decree of the USK Rector number: 2376 of 2013. FKG USK consists of two study programs, namely Dentistry Education and Dentistry Profession. Since its inception until now, the learning system at FKG has used the Competency-Based Curriculum (KBK) system with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method for Dentistry Education implemented at the Darussalam campus while for the Clinical Clerkship Profession stage it was implemented at the USK Dental and Oral Hospital. Since 2018, Dr.drg. Cut Soraya M.Pd., Sp.KG has been elected as the Dean of FKG USK. Currently, FKG USK continues to develop itself through various lines in accordance with the tridharma of higher education and produces innovative and independent dental graduates in the field of biodiversity research and professional and competitive dentists in Southeast Asia by implementing religious values.
