The Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) held the Pre-Islamic Orientation (Pra ORIS) program for new FKG USK students on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The program is part of the preparations for the 13th ORIS and serves as an initial step for new students to become acquainted with and understand Islamic values as a foundation for their academic and organizational journey within FKG USK.
Carrying the spirit of “Strengthening Faith, Strengthening Brotherhood, Building a Noble Civilization,” Pra ORIS provides new students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Islamic values, foster a sense of togetherness, and prepare themselves for the journey toward the 13th ORIS.
Throughout the Pra ORIS program, all participants are portrayed as Young Sultan Salahuddin, embarking on a journey to seek knowledge and prepare themselves for the challenges ahead. The figure of Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi represents the values of leadership, steadfastness, courage, and Islamic principles that serve as an inspiration throughout the participants’ journey.
The journey of the Young Sultan Salahuddin is not merely a theme, but also reflects the process that new students are expected to undertake. The knowledge and values gained during Pra ORIS are expected to become an essential foundation as participants continue their journey toward the 13th ORIS with greater understanding, determination, and a stronger sense of brotherhood.
Through a series of activities, participants received guidance on Islamic values and their application in everyday life as well as in their roles as university students. This process aims to foster an awareness that education requires not only academic competence, but also strong faith and good character.
The spirit of “strengthening faith” serves as the foundation of the participants’ journey. Strong faith is expected to provide students with guidance and a firm foundation as they face various challenges throughout their education. Meanwhile, “strengthening brotherhood” is fostered through interaction and togetherness among participants, which are essential in creating a supportive student environment.
Beyond providing initial guidance, the journey also carries the spirit of “building a noble civilization.” As future healthcare professionals, new students are encouraged to embody Islamic values in their academic, social, and community service activities.
Thus, Pra ORIS marks the beginning of the new students’ journey as Young Sultan Salahuddin. The knowledge, faith, and brotherhood gained through the program are expected to accompany them as they continue their journey toward the 13th ORIS.
Through this program, FKG USK hopes that new students will not only become familiar with Islamic values, but also understand and apply them in their daily lives. The journey toward the 13th ORIS is expected to become a meaningful process that shapes students with steadfast faith, strong brotherhood, and a commitment to contributing to the development of a noble civilization.
