Conservative Dentistry

Conservative Dentistry is a science that studies and analyze hard tissue disease of oral cavity especially the tooth, pulp and periapical trough preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative treatments to restore the tooth function in the stomatognathic system.
In addition, Conservative dentistry teach students to be able to analyze risk factors for hard tissue disease and periapical pulp diseases and be able to diagnose based on subjective complaints, clinical features, radiographic interpretation, histopathological features, and to be able to determine treatment plans for hard tissue diseases by implementing various kind of non-invasive and invasive treatments, as well as understanding and identifying the selection of dental materials that are in accordance with indications for the use of simple/complex direct and indirect restorations according to the principles of minimal intervention and comprehensive dental health service. And also, in the professional program, students are expected to be able to perform conservative dental treatment such as direct restoration, indirect restoration, root canal treatment on patient directly and also presenting of journal reading.
